Blade size guide

General Information on Choosing the Right Blade Length

The correct blade length is crucial for achieving optimal control, balance, and comfort in figure skating or ice hockey. The most important factor in determining the right blade size is the sole length of the skate, which is directly linked to the skate size.

Key points to consider

  • The blade should be approximately 1 mm shorter at the front and 2 mm shorter at the back compared to the sole length.
  • These values are recommended guidelines – individual skater preferences may vary slightly.
  • The blade should never extend beyond the end of the sole.

Why exact measurements are only guidelines

Since skate soles are handcrafted and mounted individually, slight variations in sole length may occur. Therefore, our blade length charts serve as a precise reference but cannot replace a final fitting check directly on the skate.

Following these tips will help you quickly and accurately find the perfect blade length for your figure skates.
